Need help with Mile Tally?
Mile Tally is a one-person operation. Most questions have a quick answer below. If yours isn't here, email support@miletally.app.
Quick answers
The trip detection notification didn't fire.
Three things to check:
- iOS Settings → Mile Tally → Motion & Fitness is on.
- iOS Settings → Notifications → Mile Tally is allowed.
- The app debounces detection for ~30 seconds at the start of a drive to avoid false positives, so very short trips may not trigger.
How do I export trips for my taxes?
Reports tab → pick a date range → choose CSV or PDF. The file goes through the iOS share sheet, so you can email it, save to Files, or hand it to your accountant directly. PDF export is part of Mile Tally Pro.
Where is my trip data stored?
On this device only, in a local SwiftData database. Settings → Privacy in the app explains exactly what's stored and what isn't.
Can I sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not in v1. Mile Tally is intentionally local-only. If we ever add sync, it will be opt-in CloudKit — your data, your iCloud account, no Mile Tally servers in the middle.
What's included in Mile Tally Pro?
- Unlimited trip history (free tier shows the last 30 days)
- PDF export for tax filing
- Apple Watch app
- Home-screen widgets
- Full IRS rate history, editable
One-time $4.99. No subscription.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Settings → About → Restore Purchase. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID, your Pro entitlement comes back.
